Part of the Story
Mark MiLan's Metis Influence for MMHAP:
Braided Strings (Traditional Metis five colors are blue-white-green-red-yellow) on MMHAP artworks acknowledge Canadian Metis culture, which Mark MiLan embraces with passion. Mark MiLan ancesters are of Canadian Aboriginal First Nations Montaingnais Cree, French, and Slovak heritage. Early childhood Canadian Aboriginal life experiences for Mark came mostly from his Mom being also a very well respected artist and designer. Mark greatly honors his grandparents receiving in a Special Aboriginal Ceremony a Gold Box and an Owl's feather by Chief Gabriel Kurtness. This MMHAP project is a Metis Cultural Project intended to add value and revenue to the Canadian Aboriginal Tourism market with uniquely Metis artworks and evolved Metis arrow sash accessories.

Mark MiLan's Artistic Influence for MMHAP:
From the beginning, Mother Nature's handiwork evokes a strong sense of ritual and ceremony that calls out to Mark. Mark MiLan's great uncle Arthur Villeneuve, whom is well known painter of Quebec, is Mark's greatest inspiration for artistic talent. Arthur Villeneuve's artistic work had very deep messages and required incredible patience to complete, which Mark MiLan tries to capture in the MMHAP creations. It is important that sacred items and traditions be respected, Mark MiLan serves the creator by honor and hopes that sharing some of his more private/sacred creations with people in a limited manner does not offend anyone and that they may simply bring further meaningful education of Canadian Metis culture.
