10 years ago when I first envisioned to create uniquely Metis artworks for public venues and cultural merchandise manufactured/handcrafted in Vancouver for the marketplace, thousands of people each month now learn about who we are through my exhibitions and gifting options recognized by the community as a cultural asset.
Thanks for the support that’s making it all possible!
Mr. Mark MiLan
It’s amazing what we can do when we come together.
May 2006 – Mark MiLan begins a body of assembledge artworks through a First Peoples of BC Council of the Arts aboriginal emerging artist grant and he dedicates almost ten thousand hours on 16 pieces over 4 years.
September 2007 – Mark MiLan incorporates MiLan Art Ltd. which mandate is to introduce uniquely Metis artworks in Vancouver public venues and to manufacture Metis cultural items using the Metis Arrow Sash fabric that could enter the Canadian Aboriginal Tourism Marketplace.
2010 Vancouver Olymipcs – Mark MiLan exhibits a Metis Smudge Alter for the 18 day duration of the Vancouver Olympics at the Pan Pacific Klahowya Village whereas the smudge handle was used to bless the opening of the aboriginal village.
March 2009 - PRESENT In its 6yr now Vancouver's only running Metis cultural display by MiLan Art ltd Mark MiLan at the RBC Main branch at 1025 Georgia St D/T Vancouver.
